Our Story

Claudia Aarts-Schreiber and Felix Aarts make up the husband/wife power couple behind ChaiseFitness Madison, NJ. Their respective backgrounds in ballet, fitness, and fine arts are the roots of their lifelong passion for movement, wellness and lifestyle.

Claudia and Felix met in Europe while both dancing professionally at highly acclaimed ballet companies. Collectively they danced in over 13 countries including the U.S., Germany, Norway, and China, dancing soloist roles in a variety of styles by world renowned choreographers. While dancing, they always strived to keep their bodies in peak condition by seeking out new and different conditioning methods to maintain flexibility and strength. After moving to New York City, Felix pursued an MFA at the prestigious Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Claudia became one of the original Chaisette at ChaiseFitness in New York City during the birth of the Reinvention Method. They are now excited to bring this cutting edge new work out to New Jersey, to help everyone create long lean muscles, increase flexibility, and transform their bodies.

Claudia Aarts-Schreiber started her first ballet lessons at age of 7 when recovering from childhood leukemia. At the age of 11 she started professional training with Elena Kunikova in NewYork City. Her dance career took her all over the world, dancing with the Carolina Ballet, to Europe as a partner of star dancer Angel Corella, and later dancing as a soloist with the Norwegian National Ballet. After retiring and moving back to New York City, she had to reinvent her professional workout regimen and physique. Claudia earned her Pilates certifications from the Physicalmind Institute and the Kane School, she is also a certified  GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® trainer and holds a certification in the BodyCode® System. When Lauren Piskin invited Claudia to join the ChaiseFitness team in New York City, she was thrilled for the opportunity. Claudia is excited to bring her passion for the Reinvention Method to New Jersey.

Felix Aarts started his ballet training at the age of 15. Only four and a half years later he graduated from the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and became a member of the prestigious State Opera Ballet Berlin. During the following 12 years, he danced soloist roles at some of Europe’s leading companies. After retiring from the stage, he received an MFA from the renowned Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. He now works as a multidisciplinary artist and entrepreneur. His work has been published in a photography book, he has created set designs and choreographies for international performances, and has exhibited both in the USA and Europe. Felix’s organizational talent has helped him pursue a versatile career. At ChaiseFitness Madison, Felix is eager to welcome you and introduce you to the Reinvention Method.
